Biking

Mountainbiking, Cycling, Downhill Biking, Freeriding, E-bikes and BMX are all popular in Innsbruck. Should you not have your own you can likely rent what you are looking for at one of the places here.

Almost every alp in Tirol can also be reached via Mountainbike. This might make the ascend more exhausting but the way down is so worth it. Although many trails offer two routes at every obstacle (a normal, easy path and one path containing an obstacle like a jump, ramp etc.) you should ensure you have the right gear to attempt it. This includes the bike (suspension, brakes, etc.) and most importantly protective gear like helmets and back protection. Find details about trails and tracks here.

The same is obviously also the case for mountain passes and racing cycles.

Should you prefer a less strenuous way to reach the top, want to extend your range or simply speed the whole thing up a bit you can also rent an e-bike. Should you bring your own instead there are also plenty of charging stations around Innsbruck.

Those of you who prefer even more adrenaline might prefer to have a look at the Bike Park Innsbruck. It offers numerous trails, a bike school, a dual course, a pump track, a beginners/kids area and can even be reached via cable car. Should that not be enough you can get even more action at the iXS Innsbruck Downhill cup which offers great entertainment should you want to ride yourself or prefer to be a spectator. Details can also be found on our event page.

You can also observe the biking elite in the disciplines Whip-Off, Dual Slalom, Pump Track, Speed & Style, Slopestyle and Downhill at the Crankworx in Innsbruck.
