If you’re surrounded by mountains it’s only logical that there’s a massive climbing scene in and around Tyrol. Whether it’s in or outdoor, summer or winter, there’s always a wall or frozen waterfall to be climbed.

Innsbruck sports one of the largest climbing facilities in the world. Having hosted the world climbing championships in 2018 and offering over 500 routes the Kletterzentrum Innsbruck is worth checking out, even when it’s not raining. If you’re new to climbing they also offer a climbing school.

Those of you who prefer climbing on natural rock have also come to right spot. 17 climbing gardens, family climbing gardens, gyms, bouldering, via ferratas and more are all nearby. An extensive list is provided by climbers paradise. A local favourite in terms of climbing gardens is the Höttinger Steinbruch.
