Long, winding & pristine roads that pass crystal clear lakes steadily make their way up the mountains. Picturesque backdrops combined with plenty of opportunities to replenish oneself and meet like minded riders.
All of that and much more make Tyrol the absolute perfect location to ride your bike.
A great site showcasing some of the most amazing routes as well as roads towards the mountaintops can be found here. Another great site for routes in the “Oberland” (around the Italian and Swiss border) is this one.

Should these incredible routes not be enough for you there’s even more to offer just across the border e.g. in South Tyrol – Italy or, particularly interesting for you speed-junkies out there, the German Autobahn in Bavaria. The latter, as you’ve probably heard, has parts without speed limit. The closest section of the German Autobahn with mostly no speed limit runs from Eschenlohe (just after Garmisch Partenkirchen) all the way up towards Munich. Keep in mind though that you being able to handle your bike at high speeds doesn’t save you from other incompetent drivers.
A safer, more responsible way to reach the top speeds of your bike (or car for that matter) offers the Salzburgring in (d’oh) Salzburg. The track can be reached in roughly 2.5 hours from Innsbruck and allows you to ride your own bike on the ring. Check out their website for the next available dates to do so.
If you don’t have your own bike there are multiple options to rent one in Tyrol e.g. from Moho.info or erento.com

Yeah, that’s all nice and all but what if I don’t like roads? Well, for you Motocross fans we actually have 2 options available. One is at Area 47, famous for all kinds of adrenaline inducing activities and the other is at Arena-X.
Arena-X, which is located near Axams, so fairly close to Innsbruck. They have an outdoor track and bikes for both kids and adults. Their e-bikes are very well maintained and the track is a lot of fun.

I used to ride Moto-X as a kid and was sceptic about e-bikes at first but they do pack a lot of power and definitely don’t lack behind the bikes you might be used to. It’s a strange feeling to ride without shifting gears or hearing the engine but you get used to it fairly fast.
The advantage of Arena-X is that is close to Innsbruck and with the price of 69€ per hour for an adult it is also the most affordable option I could find. Another positive aspect is the guide and owner Robert Schweighofer. Not only is he very knowledge and a good trainer but he also let’s you do your thing once he sees that you can handle yourself. Arena X assures good fun with No unnecessary speed-restriction etc.. As I’ve been to Arena-X myself I can definitely recommend it.

The other option is at Area 47. It is a bit further away from Innsbruck and located near Ötzal. Here you have to be at least 16 years old to ride and the price is 85€ an hour however the price also includes access to Arena 47’s water area. So it may be more expensive and require a longer journey but in return allows you to make a whole day out of it. Area 47 also offers a wide array of other activities worth checking out. Details can be found on their website.
Another advantage of Area 47 is that their track is indoors so you needn’t worry about the weather. Rain might not be the best weather for the water area though. As I haven’t tried riding there myself I have to judge by their images but it appears that they also offer bigger tables allowing for higher jumps.
We hope you enjoy your ride and stay safe!
